BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Complainants allege a variety of advertising, billing, and service quality related complaints. Some complainants allege that that surgeries advertised at a specific rate were actually much higher, or that the company attempts to impose a 20% restocking fee for canceled surgeries. In other cases, customers complain that after their insurance companies paid for services performed, they were also billed for the same services. A few complainants alleged after attending a free consultation, they received a credit card in the mail that had been charged for a surgery. When they attempted to cancel and report the charge as unauthorized, the company attempted to access a 20% restocking fee. Some customers complain that they are billed for procedures allegedly performed years ago, which their insurance companies should have paid. Because of the length of time since the procedures, some were unable to verify whether their insurance companies had actually paid. Other clients reported they were unable to obtain refunds when medical procedures were canceled or otherwise not performed.

The company responds to most complaints by disputing the complainant’s allegations and denying refund requests. In a few cases they did agree to accept reduced amounts when insurance companies or customers disputed charges.
