My 2020 Dodge Ram was stolen I reported it stolen , later on it was recovered by the highway patrol. The suspects who were in possession of the vehicle claimed I sold it to them and were released and later on that day came with an incomplete registration which was started after the date the of which the car was reported stolen . I am the current registration owner of the vehicle and it cannot be put into anyone else's name due to a hold by the dmv as well as lien by the back . My complaint is my vehicle was released to the suspect as if they were the current registration owner and also the car can no longer be. Put back as stolen by me . State law says the vehicle can only be released to the current register owner and no one else regardless if they come in with incomplete paper work. The tow company claims they got permission from highway patrol to release the vehicle and doesn't won't to take responsibility but I feel as this is their profession their was no need to ask anyone for permission to break state rules and regulations , if a police officer tells me to rob a bank I would not do it because I know it's a crime , the same can applied to a tow company releasing a car to anyone other than the current registration owner. Resolution Sought I would like town and country to pay off my vehicle as well as compensate me for stress and inconvenience of my daily agenda

On 7/1/22, Town 4 Country Towing received a call at 8:45am by CHP's dispatch to go to n/8 15fwy x s/of Murrieta Hot Springs the same day around 4:00pm. Jenise Natasha Whitfierd showed up to the tow yard with imcomplete reg. and she wanted to remove personal belongings. On 7/25/22, she returned to the tow yard to pick up the truck, I called CHP Temecula to verify that it was ok to so, after CHP reviewed the documents that Mrs. Whitfierd brought. They gave me the OK to release the truck, this was OK by CHP officer Robertson. DMV gave Jenise a incomplete application where it shows her name as the registered owner. Town & Country Towing is not responsible for the inconvenience caused to Mr. Johnson.
