Stay at your own risk!

This review is for room and staff experience only and NOT for proximity to beach. A hotel can be outdated, but should still be clean! Our room, supposedly the "best one available" was the filthiest I have ever been in. The shower was cracked all over and mold was in the grooves of shower door and tub. Pinkish rust/scale was covering showerhead. They clearly do not clean. Floor so filthy the bottoms of our feet were covered in black dirt. Had to walk around in our shoes for the duration of our stay. As for the staff...I will state facts and you can draw your own conclusions. The front desk clerk, Mayra, physically took our credit card and charged all three days in full upon arrival. Most hotels charge at end of stay, in my experience, and only hold card for incidentals. That same night, cc company emails fraud alert to hubby...someone used same cc # and made purchases at zappos.com and beachbody.com. Since cc company knows we only use that card for very specific purposes, they declined the transactions. The card was never used by us after the hotel transaction nor left our possession. We observed Mayra's actions, and those of her boyfriend, and they are questionable at best. She hung out in the parking garage with her boyfriend and the maintenance guy, Antonio, for over an hour while the front desk phone rang continuously (no other staff person there to answer phone). Her bf sat in the dining area and ate breakfast two of the three mornings we were there and he would linger around the property and parking garage...I do not believe he was a paying guest. We walked by the front desk several times and she was not present. We are fortunate that we have the knowledge and resources to investigate further and can detect suspicious activites. All I can add is stay here at your own risk. Check your credit card statements and stay away from the unhealthy mold and filth that is visible throughout the rooms.A week later, someone claiming to be the manager calls and, instead of being concerned about the actions of his employees and our negative experience, he is rude, argumentative, and disrespectful. This is how management handles customer service and problematic employee issues? This manager, staff, and owners need hospitality training. They obviously do not know the meaning of hospitality and customer service!
