Estimated $500. I paid $230 in September for power service deposit. I got my first bill 10/25/24 with a due date of 11/8/24. I paid that bill in full on 10/25/24. But because I didn't return a signed document, they cut my power off on the 28th. I told the woman at the EMC I didn't have a key to the mail box. I wasn't moved in. That I would get the document back when I could. Ice maker melted on the new floors, new house. All the food I bought was ruined/rotten and when I returned to the house on 11/2/24, with a kid fresh out of the hospital and a truck full of belongings, I found a huge stinking mess. My account was never past due! I'm out hundreds in groceries and floor damages. Oh! And I owe a $50 reconnection fee for an account that was NEVER past due! I am livid!!! This would never have happened with GAPower. According to what I am reading online, they were under contract when they accepted my money, signed contract or not. (GA power never asked me to sign anything, I just kept my bill paid) and that turning off power on a current account for lack of a signature is illegal. But they're an EMC so there is -0- accountability. Resolution Sought I want to be reimbursed for lost food, damages/repairs and the $50 reconnection fee. J
