I brought in my turbo to get rebuilt and paid the 2000 dollars my turbo blew up on me 3 days later in Kentucky costing me upwards of 20,000 between towing bills new turbo and shop fee's and broker charging me for not delivering load on time. When I called the owner of turbocharger services he became very aggressive and disrespectful I would like him to pay this whole big bill he got me in to. But at least what I paid him. I do not wish for him to fix this turbo for me because I would never put another one of his products on any of my trucks Resolution Sought Refund my losses

Company Response

1. This customer was politely and clearly advised to return his turbo for inspection in order to discover reason for failure. He refused as you clearly see in his statements. All vendors have a legal right to view why a supposed failure took place. I state supposed due to the fact we don't even have proof a failure of that very unit we repaired did fail due to the fact it has not been placed in our possession for inspection. We are not suggesting a failure did not take place but we do require proof as do all vendors. 2. We have a legal right to inspect the unit as we don't even know if this claim is even true at this point. It has not been returned to me to even prove issue exists. You might be surprised to find out this tends to be a bit more of a common practice than you might believe. Free product has a nice ring to it. 3. Law requires all merchandise to be returned or zero warranty considerations are granted. 4. All turbocharger shops and turbochargers themselves are sold on a limited liability basis. We are not liable for incidental nor consequential damages as no one would remain in business if that were the case. My responsibility is merely the turbo in question which is being refused to be returned for inspection. Emphasizing once again this story is being grossly distorted. 5. We never once got aggressive nor hostile at any point in this venture. In fact Alex was the one whom did as well necessitated a Police Report being filed on him after erratically driving by my shop which is an hour away from his location and then turning around on the very short dead ended street and raced off at about 40 MPH on a 15 MPH posted speed limit zone not actually stopping. He was the aggressor and the hostile individual. If I had done something unprofessional or unlawful why does no police report on me exist? He threatened me personally stating he intended violence at some level by his remark "Oh you will see the turbo alright" as if to suggest he planned on throwing it through one of my vehicle windows which truly was the reason for filing a police report on him. Did I fear for my safety as a legal senior citizen as of next month? Yes, I did. 6. We were very clear and to the point do not reuse the electronic actuator that came on the turbo as it was damaged and caused a failure on the turbo he initially brought to me for repair. It is the only turbo in my history of repairing this style of turbochargers that had a cracked cross shaft. This cross shaft also titled a sector shaft by the manufacturer is extremely durable and extremely thick from a material standpoint. It was cracked and required replacement and Alex was told not to reuse this actuator. 7. He made it very clear to me he had a new one and would not be reusing this part. I told him that if he intended on using this used/unadvised part he would have to sign an additional document as Cummins themselves will not warranty a turbo if a used actuator with visible damage is reused. At this point he told me specifically he was not going to use this part and had a new part to install in its place. After sending photos of alleged turbo issue there was the very part, I told him clearly would void all warranty considerations if he reused it. 8. He reused it anyway ignoring my long-term professional advice and then began swearing vehemently at me. Telling me I was full of s##t in his correspondence in regard to my advice. Let it be known I have surpassed 8000 turbo builds of which there may be no humans left on earth who can truthfully make this claim. I am very qualified and very experienced. The type of resistance we see demonstrated here regarding his dishonesty towards this part being reused has to do with it being an expensive part some prefer not to buy.
