I purchased a vehicle outright from this company they had an employee that was negligent towards filing the paperwork in order to receive my title from them. It took over a month and a half in order to receive my title causing my temporary tag to expire. When confronted about the negligence the employee, Hillary, was aggressive and rude to my mother and I when we called to confirm the paperwork we received for the title. Resolution Sought Formally apologize and issue a new temporary tag until the Kentucky dmv shut down has ended.

Mr. Nibbler purchased a vehicle from our lot in Glasgow, KY. All paperwork for transfers is finalized in our Scottsville, KY office. Title was in hand at the Scottsville office for transfer. Mr. Nibbler did not pay his tax title and license to our office but rather was responsible for paying this cost to the DMV in the county of his residence. As always with our office policy, we complete paperwork for transfers and attempt to reach out to the owners. If I am unable to reach them by phone, the paperwork is placed in their file until they reach out to us. Mr. Nibbler purchased this vehicle on 11/1/2023. He was aware at the time of purchase that he received a 30 day temporary tag which would expire on 12/1/2023. He reached out to our office in Scottsville at the end of December nearly a full month after the expiration of his temporary tag. He claimed he had tried to reach out to the salesperson which he had originally worked with but was unable to reach him. That salesman was no longer with the lot. However, the Scottsville office contact info was at the top of his purchase paperwork. Once Mr. Nibbler reached out to our Scottsville office, I made him aware that the paperwork was there in the office and he was welcome to pick it up any time during normal business hours. He came over to pick up the paperwork and asked about getting an additional temporary tag. We advised we were unable to do that as state law stated we could only issue one temporary tag per vehicle transaction and we have to keep a log which the state inspects. (State rule, Not mine!). To establish a couple of facts before continuing......The State of Kentucky closes all local clerks office (where the DMV is also located) at the end of each year for 1-2 business days for the office to end of the year inventory and such. In addition to this, The State of Kentucky had also implemented a plan to update all computer programming for all DMV offices effective for the 2024 business year which lead to the DMV being closed until January 15th for this new system to be implemented. A few days after Mr. Nibbler picked up his paperwork, I was contacted by Mr. Nibbler's mother who was insistent that I was going to give him another temporary tag since he could not get one at that time due to the state shut down. I advised her that while I was sorry and completely understood the frustration he was dealing with, I was unable to break the rules set forth by the motor vehicle commission who issues our licenses and rules just because he was inconvenienced. She began to complain and tell me that what paperwork I had given him was such a mess and she had never seen anything like this and that she thought I didn't know what I was doing. I walked them through the paperwork to explain that many of the forms included were dealer forms which she would not have seen in an individual setting. I further explained that when Mr. Nibbler was unable to reach the salesman, he could and should have reached out to our office immediately. His delay in contacting us about the paperwork did not make me responsible for correcting the problem he was now facing. She then asked to speak with my boss, who I advised would be my husband as the owner of the dealership and she was welcome to speak with him but that would not change the result of what they were asking for that we were unable to provide. At this point, she was highly upset, began to curse and yell. I advised her as I always do anyone in a situation that someone is upset, if she wanted to have a civilized conversation I was happy to do so, but that the fact would not change that I could not legally issue Mr. Nibbler an additional temporary tag. At that point she advised me that she was going to contact an attorney as I just didn't want to help and was attempting to take advantage of her son and did not want to help them at all and then she hung up.
