I approved a quote to install a screen door on my balcony by this company. They quoted the labor rate at $75 an hour. When the technician arrived he came with one tool and apparently no experience. It was so extreme that I had to supply some of the tools myself and help with the installation even though I'm partially disabled. When presented with the invoice I asked for clarification on the labor charges and the difficulties that the installer had with a simple task and ask for a restatement of the quote. Both the billing administrator and apparently the CFO of the company are insisting that the work was done is quoted and even though I am within the payment terms on a late billing basis, they are implying that they will take legal action. We did indeed perform work for Mr. Thomas. We quoted him $75/Hr plus materials. He agreed, and we performed the work for him, and it took one hour to perform the work. We tried repeatedly to get him to pay the bill, and he kept telling us he forgot, and that he'd get to it. After 4 or 5 tries we finally told him we'd file in small claims court if he didn't pay as agreed before the work was done. I don't know what we could do differently. The hourly rate can't be negotiated after the work is done, when you have agreed beforehand to the quoted price. We are a class "A" contractor with specialties in residential and commercial construction, as well as holding a Master Electricians license. All our technicians are provided with a company maintenance van that is fully equipped with tools. This was a very small job that took an hour to complete, and the customer just didn't feel inclined to pay his bill.

It is absolutely irrelevant that you have a master electrician's license for screen door installation. Furthermore there was no state of terms of payment Beyond a 30-day late fee. So even though I was trying to register a complaint about the quality of the service I would not disputing the amount. I paid the full amount and posted advisories on social media about this company's business practices.
