Customer Complaint
6/3/2022
Briefly, I am attempting to be refunded close to $30,000 from Vantage Travel for two upcoming trips. Because of my husband's health, with doctors' letters, he is not supposed to travel. As of now, I have not officially cancelled either trip, although for one of them I filed a claim with Allianz travel insurance the group Vantage uses and have learned that the claim was "processed, reviewed, and approved." However, Vantage, which says they have received the claim, will not tell me the amount approved, only that I did not cancel the trip officially, and that there is virtually no monetary refund, but credit instead for a different trip. My husband cannot travel. Meanwhile, I have been assigned jury duty during the middle of the second trip (for which I have no insurance but feel my husband's health, the fact that travel is to the Baltic despite Russia, that both trips had been "Postponed" dues to covid, and that jury duty alone should validate a refund), yet Vantage doesn't pay that any heed. Rather, Vantage refuses to let me speak with someone in the accounts dept. or the quality control dept. Any communication with these is through email, where they refuse to answer my questions and send me copies of the approved insurance claim; rather, they allow me only to speak with general customer representatives who act as gate keepers. There is, of course, more to this story, but above are the basics.
