Company Response

Company states; Mr. Oles came in to my office with his wife regarding the estate of her dad. On my initial intake sheet that the client fills out, it states on the sheet that a 1 hour conference is $125.00. He paid me by credit card $125.00. I haven't received any other payment from him. During a period of time in 2023, I had started paperwork for the Estate and had several phone conferences with Mr. Oles. However, he was not my client, his wife was, as she was next of kin. He refused to let me or my office speak to his wife, so the file was put "on hold." I did attempt to call him back at least twice that I remember, with no return phone call. He had come into my office at some point in 2023 and was very belligerent to my staff ( I was not in the office when he came in). For all of these reasons, but mainly because of his escalation of anger, and the fact that I was unable to speak to his wife, only him, that I decided not to move forward with the case. I gave him back all the paperwork that he gave me, and since no retainer was obtained, I wrote off the bill that had accumulated for the work that I started, and several phone calls. I think Mr. Oles is angry at me because I decided not to take the case; but I there were safety issues for my staff because of his anger when he would come into the office. He expected me to be available any time he came in. So now he is trying to ruin my reputation which I don't take kindly to. I have a good reputation in the town that I've practiced in for almost 30 years. Alecia Vidika Vidika Law, LLC.

Customer Rebuttal

There was no refusal to let her speak with my wife. My wife would ask me to call her back when she called. She was asked at the original appointment to do a power of Attourney which was never done. There was no anger toward her staff, just a mere questioning of coming charges, which were never answered. I was told several times that she would call me back, and no calls. I didn't expect her to be available, but to merely be a business owner and return phone calls. There was no notification that she wasn't taking the case, and any communication from her past the initial consultation has been non-existent.
