Customer Complaint

7/23/2021

I had Voya Short Term Disability Insurance through my employer. My therapist diagnosed me with having PTSD (Nov. 2020). My therapist demanded that I be off of work for 6 months (submitted documentation). A Voya representative (Ms. Green) said she "was only going to pay me for 2months". My therapist submitted documentation to Voya that I need to see a psychiatrist first & to be put on prescribed medication(s) for my sleeping disorders. Every psychiatrist I'll call to make an appointment was booked out 4 to 6 months in advance at that time due to the pandemic (Covid-19). I was forced back to work by Voya denying my benefits after 2 months & without seeing a psychiatrist. Approximately 2 months later I had to be hospitalized (committed) due to me having a psychosis episode while on my job. I was hospitalized for six days & put on prescribed medications. I have suffered greatly due this Voya. I was terminated from my job due to having a psychosis episode. Resolution Sought Pay for my loss of employment & or what I paid into the company for 7years. & pay for my pain and suffering($100k)

Thank you for your response. As I stated in my initial response: I submitted(12/2020) all the necessary documents to Voya from my therapist & I will mail copies the documents from Oakwood Springs (my hospital stay). I lost alot , with no fault of mine. I'm continuously seeking mental help. My family, friends were and are greatly affected by what happened on 04/28/21.
