Wakefield & Associates complaints

I have been harassed over the last 6 months with phone calls, text messages, and emails about a "debt" owed that i paid off with the medical company from the very beginning 2 years ago. I sent 3 emails with receipts over the last 6 months as well as called the medical company who stated they did not send me to a debt collection agency as I paid in full 2 years prior. I then got the supervisor at wakefield and associates Jason Lee on a conference call with the billing department of the medical office who confirmed the date, my information, and that they did not send me into debt collections as I didn't owe any money. Jason Lee told me he would file a formal complaint within the company and that they would not call, email, text or mail me anything other than a bill stating I owed $0 to wakefield and associates as i never said they could call, text, or email me. Just got another letter today after talking to Jason Lee a month ago stating I still owe Wakefield and Associates $340. 3 days prior I got the receipt from the medical company (Sound Physicians) showing what I paid and that I didn't owe any money and it was paid off 2 years prior. I called wakefield and associates again (the 7th time I've had to do this) and they stated Sound Physicians has not cleared my debt and I still owe them. I geniunely don't trust wakefield and associates at all and assume they're going to try to destroy my credit out of pettiness. I don't know how this company can still exist after the reviews. Resolution Sought Use the guidelines to be a legal debt collection agency or close their doors entirely. They are scamming people out of money on a large scale, just look at their Google reviews. I never thought the BBB would continue to let a company like this operate in the United States.
