I had brand new tire installed on my car April 16, 2024. The tires were purchased through Walmart online on Black Friday and there was a tire warranty that I was told is supposed to cover any tire damage to the tires while driving and replace it if it can't be repaired. On Thursday, July 3, 2024, the car started vibrating very badly and was driving as if it had a bad tie rod. I brought it to my mechanic and was told it was not a tie rod but two of the new tires that only had 5000 miles on them were shot and melted from a small patch of hot tar that I apparently had driven through somewhere. I then brought my car to Walmart due to the tire warranty I had purchased. When I got there I was told that the tires were not covered and was forced to buy two more tires or be without my car even though I purchased the warranty to cover me in this type of situation. The manager said the car was safe to drive and the tire would repair itself while driving and the warranty doesn't cover comfort issues even though the other mechanic shop said the tires were destroyed and should not be driven and could cause more damage to other parts on the car if not replaced soon. This is not the first time Walmart has decided not to replace a tire that should have been replaced which leads me to believe they are selling tire warranties that don't cover anything even though they are telling customers any road damage is covered. Resolution Sought Refund the $236.72 I paid to replace the two damaged tires that should have been covered under the warranty I purchased.
