On January 3rd, 2022 Mr. Bailey dropped off his 2013 Chevy Impala for a subwoofer and amplifier install. Before pulling in his car, Mr.Bailey showed us his subwoofer in his trunk to make sure everything was good for the install and it was. The next day we pulled in his car, emptied out the trunk and saw wires tucked away in the very back behind the driver side passenger seat. We then checked the wires and saw they were already run to the front of the hood. Therefore, the only work we did was wire the amp, connect the subwoofer, and add a fuse to go to the power. We NEVER had to drill anything or run wires since it was already done. When Mr. Bailey arrived to pick up his vehicle, that's when we discovered the issue of the instrumental panel and air conditioning controls not functioning . We told Mr. Bailey to come back while we ran diagnostics on his vehicle. After double checking through our work we couldn't find the problem, we then decided to look at fuses in case any blew. While checking the passenger kick panel fuses, we noticed a burnt smell coming from that area, which led to further inspection. That's when we discovered a CORRODED & CRACKED black wire going into the harness. At this point we decided to call Meineke next door to come inspect the issue. They confirmed that it was indeed the black wire going into the harness causing the issues to the vehicle. In addition, they stated that a wire cannot corrode in a day let alone a couple hours. They also confirmed our work had nothing to do with the issue. You are more than welcome to call the manager to verify this (317) 300-5554. After Mr. Bailey returned to pick up his vehicle we tried to explain the situation but he refused to understand and got upset. He told us he's going to take it to an electric shop for a diagnosis, and that we are going to pay for all of this. We wrote a statement offering to pay if indeed the issue was our fault. Nonetheless, Mr. Bailey was charged a total of $300 for the labor and the amp he purchased from us, which was a discounted price we agreed on before starting the work. The car was serviced at Norm's auto electric, who confirmed the issue of the black wire going into the harness. Mr.bailey was told from us that was the problem but he decided to ignore us. We will not pay for someone else's problems if we are not at fault.
