I bought a TCL 75" Roku TV from Walmart, got it home then realized it was too big for the space. So I went right back to the store to return/exchange it, it wasn't even an hour later. Told customer service why I was bringing it back, etc. And I had my receipt. I expected a really quick exchange, get my money back and be on my way, that's not what happened. They scanned the barcode on the box and it matched my receipt, and it turned into the most embarrassing and humiliating experience of my life. Because then they began interrogating me, opened up the box, took the TV out and began thoroughly inspecting it, I NEVER EVEN TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX mind you. Called the manager, and then proceeded to tell me that the barcode on the back of the TV itself doesn't match. And I said okay?? I had time to get it home, realize it was too big, put it back in the truck and return to the store, that's it. I know nothing about barcodes not matching, or why they don't. I know what they were implying and I was insulted and offended by it. And angry, I had nothing to do with whatever they were implying is what I told them. People were staring and could hear everything being said. They in not so many words accused me of trying to scam them, by trying to return a different TV, that was in the box. When they pulled it out, they said the only issue was the barcode on the back of it was different than on the box. I said, AND?? Idk anything about that. They refused to refund my money and it took an hr Resolution Sought Prove that it was me who put a different TV in that box, which they can't. And I didn't. I was treated like a criminal for trying to return something I just purchased 45 min earlier, with my receipt. I've never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my entire life. Idk why they took it to the level they did. I had my purchase receipt, and the item was in it's original packaging. It's all on camera, purchase, return , to c.s. humiliating and embarrassing me. I'm consulting an attorney.
