What happened is this I am a 42 year old lady, I have a 2006 Nissan Morano, on Monday January 10th, my can has a flashing light engine and a car power goes down a little bit. I drove slowly with emergency light on and went to the Walosor Nissan Dealer, which is very, very close to my home. When I went there, I have been told to go home and I will be receiving a text message when my car will checked, which I will be paying in between 70 to 100 for diagnosis, a few minutes later I got message from the dealer the message said hey your car has 3 problems, 1) gasket 2) thyroid 3) Ignition cord, which can cost your car has a flashing engine light because one of your calendar is not working and then this was my response to them. I know my car has a little bit about thyroid and the gasket, but what is exactly you diagnosis my car today and then they say, Ignition code and then, I told him can you please fix only Ignition code and then they said yes we can fix only that part and then I have asked how much and how long, Guaranteed will you be giving and then they said leases 12 months and then I told them is my running perfect then they say yes. Then I told them ok. Then after few minutes, I get text messages, hey your car has a lot of problems, we can fix and you have to pay 577 pay or Resolution Sought I need to get my car back without paying 577 for nothing and I don't want for them to using me by force and they have to take it out there parts if they even, but some parts without broken my car. I can only pay their 70 for checking what was wrong with the car first. I am scared of them they are robbing my car since yesterday, they don't want to answer me and they're using me a power.

Company Response

We are in receipt of Ms. Jama's complaint filed January 13, 2022. In response to this complaint, we have reviewed this matter with our General Manager at Walser Nissan ("Walser"). Our General Manager, Dan Resch, has investigated Ms. Jama's concerns regarding her 2006 Nissan Murano. Ms. Jama brought her vehicle to Walser for service on January 10, 2022, because she stated her vehicle was shuddering and the check engine light was illuminated. Walser determined that the vehicle's ignition coil had failed. Walser text messaged with Ms. Jama explaining that the ignition coil needed to be replaced for a total cost of $577. Ms. Jama approved for Walser to do the repair via text message at 1:53 p.m. on January 10 by stating: "Ok. You Can go a head fixed it now 577." (sic) Walser promptly completed the ignition coil replacement and test drove the vehicle. Unfortunately, upon the test drive, Walser's technician determined that the vehicle also needed three catalytic converters replaced to fully address the shuddering condition and get the vehicle running properly. Ms. Jama declined to have that additional work performed, and Walser returned the vehicle to Ms. Jama. At the time of service, Ms. Jama's vehicle was 15 years old and had nearly 178,000 miles on it. It is quite common for a vehicle to need numerous repairs at this stage of a vehicle's life. Walser completed a necessary and valuable repair for Ms. Jama, and she consented in writing to the repair work. Based on this, Walser does not see a rationale for a refund of Ms. Jama's payment of $577.
