I need to express my concerns about Hyatt Vacation Club. Despite my repeated attempts to seek assistance from both their Exit Services and Owner Services teams, my concerns have not been taken seriously, and I am left deeply frustrated by their lack of support. My husband has dementia and Parkinson's. Maintaining this timeshare has become financially burdensome, and I have contacted Hyatt to explain our situation. Yet, their Exit Services team informed me we do not qualify for an exit. This is both disappointing and unjust. It defies reason that a company of their stature cannot provide reasonable options for owners facing significant, life-altering circumstances. I believe Hyatt has a responsibility to offer solutions for those unable to continue ownership due to unforeseen hardships. Asking us to sell the property on our own is not an acceptable resolution. We feel absolutely abandoned by Hyatt's unwillingness to work with us. We had hoped to resolve this matter directly with Hyatt, but each interaction has only led to dismissal and a refusal to listen. I urge your organization to step in and assist us in holding Hyatt Vacation Club accountable. We are eager to find a fair and compassionate resolution to this ongoing hardship. We were lured into the program with promises of cheap vacations and exclusive benefits. It all began with an invitation to a presentation at a zoo pop-up tent, where we were enticed by a free trip and a $250 gift certificate for attending a session in San Diego. What was supposed to be a brief 90-minute meeting turned into a 3-4 hour high-pressure sales pitch. Despite our initial hesitation, we were pressured into signing up. After committing, we were blindsided by hidden costs, including exorbitant maintenance and transfer fees that far exceed our typical vacation budget. The required "owner update" meetings turned out to be more aggressive sales pitches for upgrades, designed to confuse and push us into further financial commitments. The timeshare itself is impractical. Available dates rarely align with our schedule, and travel costs to resorts are prohibitively high. Worst of all, Hyatt has refused to cancel our agreement, despite our repeated cancellation attempts since March 2024. It is deeply troubling to have been misled into what feels like an inescapable financial burden.Consumers like us are being deceived and trapped in costly, restrictive agreements with no clear way out.
