I am financing a vehicle through this company. At the beginning of this contract they were authorized to withdraw over 200.00 biweekly. For 2 years, this has not been a problem until earlier this year when their office staff changed. They do not go into my account on the designated days which results in late fees for me. They have now repossessed my car because they didn't go into my account for the last 2 payments and the money was available. They tell me that because it's my account with them, that I am supposed to call them when they don't take the money out. Now in order for me to retrieve my vehicle, I have to pay towing fees and finance charges. They had my car towed 50 miles away. I don't think I should be held responsible for them not doing their job. I am disabled and need my car for work. I am a nurse just getting over covid. I am so upset. Please help. Resolution Sought Refund all repossession fees. Do their job without being prompted to do so. And not do this to anyone else.

Mrs. Thigpen is correct about being on Bi-weekly reoccurring payments. Ms. Thigpen became past due this year quite often starting the whole month of July into the middle of August when her credit card was declined when trying to pull the payments. Once it declines, the bank will not try to pull it again. Winthrop customer service reps will then call the customer to explain their payment was declined and would they like to make a payment. Once the payment gets declined their biweekly is no longer on the correct schedule due to, they must pay 2 weeks in advance. Ms. Thigpen was left voice mails and certified letters regarding past due account balance. Once the customer is in the right to cure status, they must pay the full amount of past due (not including future payments), or the vehicle will be repossessed. The letter that is sent out via certified mail explains this information. If we get no response by the date they were given, the vehicle goes out to repossession. When the payment on file declines it is up to the customer to make up that payment and after 10 days late fees accrue.
