They brought him to A TCU in Minnesota. Where majority of his family is. He has very strict medication throughout the day. When he has thyroid meds that have to be taken before breakfast. They serve him breakfast, before his meds. So a cold omelet it is, especially when the computer system should be giving them alerts when to give their patients meds. Now the case worker said he would get released on the 22nd of October but they keep pushing it a day out. His Medicare expired now he has to pay out of pocket for the his stay. So I feel giving him a false sense of hope, well his wife is devastated that they won't release him to her custody. Trust me grandma would be on top his diet and his pills. His family has high hopes for him. But they keep playing mind games and patients should feel important. Now my question is if they did to him what makes you not think that they are doing it to others. I care for everybody. So please look into this. Resolution Sought To actually keep notes on patients meds and diets and actually care for the patients that they have cause their families actually care a lot for them.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. At Woodlyn Heights Senior Living, we take every complaint seriously and aim to address any issues to ensure the best possible care for our residents. I would like to address the matters you have raised regarding your loved one's care and discharge. Medication and Meal Timing The prescribed schedule for the resident's thyroid medication requires it to be administered on an empty stomach before breakfast. Balancing this requirement with meal timing can be challenging, but we strive to meet both medical needs and resident comfort. We understand the frustration caused by any inconsistencies, including concerns about meal temperature. We are reviewing our procedures to improve coordination and minimize inconvenience. Discharge and Medicare Coverage The discharge date of October 24th was established during a care conference involving the resident and their family. This date was set to ensure all health and safety needs were met, including the provision of oxygen, which was deemed medically necessary. Initially, the resident expressed a desire to leave against medical advice (AMA) without oxygen, but after discussions, they agreed to use it. While this decision delayed the process slightly, it was crucial to prioritize safety. The resident was discharged one day earlier than the planned date, not later, and this was still within the agreed timeframe prior to the conclusion of their Medicare coverage. Communication and Family Involvement We value transparency and collaboration with families. The suggestion to misrepresent the discharge date to facilitate an early release would have been unethical and illegal, constituting Medicare fraud. We have a responsibility to adhere to ethical and legal standards to protect everyone involved. General Care Concerns Your concerns about ensuring high-quality care for all residents align with our own values. We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome specific details about any issues or patterns you believe warrant further investigation. This allows us to take appropriate action. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as it helps us better serve our residents and their families. If you have any further questions or wish to discuss this matter in more detail, please feel free to contact me directly.
