Wrecker 1 Inc. complaints

Company states; we have no knowledge of whom the young lady called or didn't call, GDOT, (HERO) doesn't call anyone to assist you as that's what they are there for, so that portion of her story makes zero sense. The call from the Henry County 911 center came in to us as a wrecked SUV in the left lane @ the 216. (It's 8pm on Friday night, so it's dark out there) .....Once "Steve" arrived on scene he found the casualty parked on the gore between the reversible express laner and the fast lane of i-75 as well it was not a wrecked SUV, it was a passenger car that had significant previous damage front end damage....Officer McDonald and Steve ask the young lady to exit the vehicle and go sit in the wrecker so she wouldn't get struck by a passing car....(young black female wearing all black on a dark interstate).....she made her way to the cab of the wrecker and then turned around and asked what we wanted her to do.......being that she was standing next to a diesel engine 30 feet away and there was tons of road noise from the passing cars and trucks Steve spoke up so she could hear him. once the car was loaded and Steve entered the wrecker the "Amber" peppered him with questions and demanded she be taken home....First of all, that is not what we do, we open the roadway....we are NOT Uber or Lyft. Secondly, HCPD does not direct us in any manner unless and expect a felony has occurred and the vehicle needs to be searched or seized. Amber's issue with the officer is just that-- between her and the officer. (BTW, the two officers that spent over two hours that Friday night listening to her and her "mother's" lies, he denied ever telling her any of that, I would assume all of their conversation and interactions are on his BWC as was ALL of Steve's!). As it relates to the phone... After all of Amber's rudeness, threats and overbearing tone, Steve called the 911 backline to have an officer come deal with her. Two officers showed up as well as her "mother"....(it wasn't her mother as it was her boyfriend's mother. After two plus hours of acting like raving lunatics and demanding that it was the "mothers' car and demanding that they get their way.......the officers ran the registration of the vehicle and found that neither of the two ladies owned the vehicle. THREE HOURS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT? At the end of the day the "boyfriend / son" showed up Saturday morning with his mother and retrieved the vehicle without confrontation or incident. HE paid $175.00 plus a %5 convenience fee....AMBER never paid a dime. To conclude: one would think that someone would be "THANKFUL" to have assistance after literally being trapped in the middle of two extremely busy and live high speed travel lanes. As it relates to the Google review....Wrecker 1 has performed 10's of thousands of calls in the last 18 years...we're not to terribly concerned about the few people that choose to use the internet to show their maturity! There will be no refund given as she didn't pay a cent, as well so there are no further issues Wrecker 1 will no longer give courtesy rides.. Stranded motorist will either need to walk or ride in back of the patrol car. ALL of this was captured on BWC, dash camera as well as the phone! Wrecker 1 Inc.
