On 9/10/2021, I contacted Wyzant.com to find a proficient Excel tutor. I received a message immediately stating, " Request Sent! Stephanie T. is reviewing your request. Expect their response by email: within 2 hours." On the website, I received a message from Stephanie T., through the website stating " I can help with Excel". Stephanie T. called me and we spoke briefly on what I specifically needed help with. I explained that I was in the process of obtaining my Business Administrative Associates degree, and need help with understanding the different functions of Excel. Stephanie texted me , 60/ hr and where we could publicly meet for the tutoring session (Starbucks at the Riverfront on Justison Street at noon)on 9/11. I arrived and waited for StephanieT., who arrived and introduced herself and told me she was hungry and order food and green tea. She proceeded to eat while I waited to began. I had two assignments that Stephanie T. and I went through each question individually. Four hours later, I paid Stephanie T. $140 and asked her to please follow me home to retrieve another $100. She came picked up the money ($240 altogether) and left. I went back to my assignment and looked at the grades. 70 being passing, I received a 74 and a 54 grade. This is unacceptable! Wyzant advertises competent tutors. Stephanie T. is incompetent with Excel, and it cost $240. I could have failed without the tutor. I contacted Stephanie T. through email and text. I have all communications. Resolution Sought A refund of $240

Kenna has been in contact with Wyzant’s Customer Support Team about their experience. Tutors listing their services on the Wyzant platform are indepdent tutors and are not employees of Wyzant. The Terms of Use and Tutor and Student Payment Policies of the Wyzant platform outline that payments for lessons must be made through the Wyzant platform. Because Kenna did not follow Wyzant’s Payment Policies, but instead paid the referenced tutor directly, Wyzant has no means to assist with any type of refund of the monies paid. We are sorry for Kenna’s experience and that Wyzant cannot assist further.
