My husband and I retired 5/5/2020,from Omaha Nebraska . We couldn't find affordable housing there, so found an add on Facebook market for a mobile home here in Hollister Missouri. We loved the beauty of Hollister and decided to go ahead and purchase the 1969 mobile home. We moved in about 5/15/2020. We gave the seller of the mobile home every last dollar we had to purchase the home, and have been making payments to him without fail. We found a friend who was willing to lend us what we needed to pay off the mobile home. So we still have 7 more payments to make, and we'll be free of that payment. The lot rent here is $220.00 a month. We have never missed a payment, and always pay on time. We also had to purchase a shed 10x12. Its barely a year old. We have done nothing but improve the house and the lot we rent. So a rumor started going around the park that it was sold. The owners of Yacht Club never said anything about it. But we're now being told that the new owners will be sending out a letter. We live on a limited income. My mobile home might be too old to move, plus the previous people added on 2 additional rooms. We don't know what to do. We're a bit frightened. This is a huge shock to us. What will happen to us? Will the owners be responsible for moving my home? Od if it can't be moved, shouldn't they have to purchase it from us? We've done so much to the inside already. We have improved the lot as well. We have too much to lose. Resolution Sought To do what is right. We're humans. They need to buy my home for the same price, or move my home and shed to a new park. We feel like we're being thrown out like trash. Our options are minimal. They need to be more compassionate. Who does this to old people? Many have been here 20+ years. Take the fear out of us. I can't sleep, I can't concentrate. What is the law to protect us?
