I suggest the shop goes out of business before they do some serious damage to a home

The car was brought in for numerous repairs. Only two items were completed. At ridiculous prices. And the most confusing bill I ever saw. The air conditioner was working properly when I bought it in, and when I picked it up it was not working at all. After going back numerous times , they claim they couldn't fix it and claimed it was a wiring problem. After bringing car home, parked it in attached garage; in less than 10 minutes, the whole house smelled like a gas station. I had to air out the house for over an hour. After bringing it to another auto shop they discovered the fuel filter that goes into the carburetor was cross threaded which cause a bad leak, which was on the original repair order for Sun Devil. Which I tried to talk to them about the matter and they brushed me off. Also there is a compressor for the automatic leveling, they said was shot, which was proven completely wrong by the other shop. Also there was a wire for a kill switch which they could not figure out, which was easily repaired by the other shop. I feel like the complete lack of professionalism which could of caused my car to blow up or catch on fire with the fuel leaking profusely and the amount it's costing me at the other shop justify my action I am taking. I suggest the shop goes out of business before they do some serious damage to a home after parking my car with the gas leaking , it could of caused a lot more damage then it did.

Comments and Analysis

California law affords you certain rights when you have repairs made to your automobile. Repair shops are required to display a sign informing you of these rights. They include, for example, the right to a written repair estimate, to a detailed invoice of labor and parts, and to the return of any parts replaced, provided you request the return at the time you order the work and provided that your warranty does not require that the be returned to the manufacturer.

A repair service may not perform repairs beyond those listed in the estimate without your authorization. However, if they have to tear down a component to give you an estimate, you may have to pay for the labor to tear it down and reassemble it. You will know beforehand, though, what the charge for that will be. You should never sign a blank work order, and a reputable dealer will not ask you to.

For businesses outside of California, please check with the agency that regulates this industry.
