The store is crooked

Purchased a pack of cigarettes in a coffee and because the credit card machine was acting up. I put the cigarettes back onto the counter and then the transaction finally went through on my second attempt. I left the cigarettes there I went and called back and they said that nobody left cigarettes. The store is crooked
