Comments and Analysis

We urge caution. We believe this company may be recruiting participants for a package forwarding scam. Forwarding scams involve the receiving and reshipping of merchandise ordered online, to locations usually overseas. Participants believe they are working for the company, and will be receiving a paycheck at the end of a 30 day waiting period. They are not told, that the packages they are forwarding have been paid for with stolen or fraudulent credit cards, or, that the merchandise was ordered from mail order companies or Internet auction sites and has never been paid for. The company requires a network of at home workers to receive the packages, and re-ship them so the fraudulent transaction charges will be traced to the home employee who will be unable to reach their employer (Sun Star Postal), to prove their innocence. Those who even unknowingly participate in forwarding stolen goods, or unauthorized credit card transactions, may risk prosecution themselves, despite being a victim.

Victims are usually recruited by “Help Wanted” ads posted on popular Internet job search sites promising high paid positions requiring little work which can be performed in the comfort of your own home. They usually ask that you fill out an application which will ask for all of your personal information, including your Social Security number. After you are “hired, “you will immediately begin receiving packages at your residence and are then responsible for repackaging and shipping the merchandise abroad.

Payment may arrive in the form of a third party cashiers check instead of a regular paycheck, if received at all. Additionally, the check may be for an amount in excess of what had previously been agreed upon. You will be instructed to cash the check and electronically forward the excess amount to an overseas bank account. After the transaction is complete but before the check has had a chance to "clear," the financial institution realizes that the cashier's check is not valid. That means that you are responsible for the total amount of the fraudulent check. You have not only become a victim, but the operators of the scam are now in possession of your personal information. If you have been victimized by an employment scam, you can help prevent these types of incidents from recurring by reporting it to the proper law enforcement authorities.

Other Considerations

Our files show disconnected phone numbers, returned mail or both. Directory assistance as of June 30, 2008 reports no current listed phone number for the company, and they have no such address on file. Although the company's website is still operational, the company appears to be out of business. The Bureau cannot trace addresses of companies or principals. General information is available upon request which may assist you.
