This company appears to be operating an employment scam. Individuals report that VidaXL offers employment opportunities paying $1500 monthly to process PayPal payments for items sold by the company on auction sites. Participants allege after setting up PayPal accounts in their own name, they are sent invoice information to fill out and submit to customers via PayPal. Customers then send their payments to the Participant that VidaXL "hires" and the participant mails the funds to VidaXL's representative. Participants allege that after funds are mailed to VidaXL, the customer does not receive their items and when they initiate a dispute with PayPal, it is the recipient that is charged for the loss. VidaXL is not included in the dispute as their information is not used in the payment transaction.
Initial job offers from VidaXL are for respondents to editing documents for the company for earnings of $40-$50 daily with pay being issued after a month via PayPal. When the month is over, they claim that their document editing position is temporarily suspended due to changes to the company's procedures. To obtain pay for the work done editing documents, participants are coerced to take on the new position processing Paypal payments.
Beware that this is a scam. Similar to other employment scams, VidaXL is not offering employment. Instead they are recruiting individuals under the guise of employment to defraud consumers who purchase items on auction sites like eBay. One complainant who unwittingly became involved in the scheme was defrauded out of $5800. She responded to the job offer as a document editor and then accepted the PayPal payment processor position. VidaXL allegedly sold a $5800 Hermes Black Birkin Bag on ebay to a customer and had the complainant invoice the customer. Once the customer paid the complainant through PayPal, the complainant followed directions and mailed the money to VidaXL rep Max Quincy. VidaXL never sent the bag and the complainant was left to appeal PayPal's decision. You can read the details of the complaint by clicking on the Complaint portion of this report.
The company does not appear to be operating in the US, although they have a California and Delaware Corporation filing. They claim to be a European company trying to develop a market in North America. There appears to be information tying the company to Russia.
