Comments and Analysis

This company offers a work-from-home business opportunity by you becoming an agent with a chosen corporation to handle their sales and service calls. The company offers a contract to earn money from home in just a few weeks. The "Apply Now" page is where potential applicants can fill out an Independent Contractor Application form online. Once the application is approved, the company supposedly calls for a phone interview. If the applicant is accepted as an independent contractor, a notification is sent via email to include all the required documentation to proceed and finalize the acceptance of the job offer.

BCA urges caution regarding this company's work-from-home offer. We have a number of concerns with the company's advertising which we feel is deceptive or misleading. Potential customers are hired by corporations as an independent agent according to the website. However, nowhere on the website does it name or list the names of these corporations. In the "Details" section of the company website, a portion of the page containing statements and email addresses is covered by a stamp. The Paypal button on the company website does not work. There are no explanation of the fees including what the total cost is to become an independent agent, what kind of training is offered and the charge for training.

BCA reached out to the owner of the company requesting verification of the contracts and relationships with the corporations their potential customers may choose to work for. BCA also requested copies of everything that a potential customer receives; information regarding the pay scale and references to speak with agents who received employment through their company. The owner declined our request stating she did see the need to provide us with the information and provided nothing for our review.

Typically the only one who profits from a work at home offer is the company itself. Of the numerous work at home companies in our files, not one ever substantiated the earnings claims made in advertising and promotional literature.

Complaints about similar services allege; the advertised employment was unavailable or that jobs were non-existent, that listed companies did not exist or did not provide permission for publication, and that the advertising was misleading about the availability or earnings potential.

California Law requires that any company offering a job listing service, register and post a $10,000 surety bond with the California Secretary of State. These companies are also required to provide you with a written contract which includes; basic company information, fees charged, description of services, explanation of your three-day cancellation rights, and refund rights. Any fees must be refunded if the company fails to provide at least three employment opportunities within seven business days after signing the contract. If you fail to obtain employment within 90 days, you are entitled to a refund less $25 and it must be paid within 10 days or they must pay twice the amount. The law also perscribes that these companies must have written permission of the employer, verified within 4 days of printing, that they are able to refer jobseekers that meet specifications.
