Customers beware

The owner of this travel agency in the person of Steve Bertin Patippe is a con man, he receives payments for airline tickets which he never books and send falsified confirmationa and booking information to clients. He took almost $8 thousand US dollars from me and and come to find out he did not pay for those tckets and Ethiopian/Canadian airlines cancelled my tickets. He is currently not responding to calls and or emails. he has disconnected his contact number and brought down his fb page because numerous clients have thesame complaint. No one should purchase a ticket from him.

Comments and Analysis

When your planning for a trip it is essential to make sure you are buying from a business you know and trust. So before booking a trip do your homework.
~ You can get recommendations from family and friends about the companies they use and like. Make sure to always check the businesses reputation out by obtaining a BCA report. Do an online search for more information on the company and to see what others have to say about their service and prices.
~ Call to verify your reservations and arrangements. Gather the names addresses and phone numbers of the airlines car rental companies and hotels you’ll be using and confirm all arrangements yourself. If you can’t get a person from the travel company on the phone to answer your questions consider using another agency.
~ Prior to paying for any trip get a copy of the company’s cancellation and refund policies. Discuss possible problems that may arise and get answers to these before booking a trip. Ask about any additional fees such as “resort fees” that may cost extra. Consider whether some form of travel cancellation insurance is appropriate. The U.S. Travel Insurance Association maintains a list of licensed travel insurance companies.
~ Pay by credit card so you have more protection than paying by cash or check. If you don’t get what you paid for you may be able to dispute the charges with your credit card company. However don’t give your account number to any business until you’ve verified its reputation.
~ Consider using a travel app to help you search for airfares and hotel rates get fare alerts and real-time deals and manage your itinerary.
~ Check out BCA’s blog “Why Purchasing Travel Insurance Can Mean Smooth Sailing” for tips on travel insurance.
