All auto repair shops must be registered with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), and should display a sign disclosing their registration along with your rights as a consumer. If you don't see a sign, ask for it. All repair shops must provide a written estimate before repairs begin which includes prices of parts and labor charges. They cannot legally substitute parts or change the repair order without your authorization. Never sign a blank work order. To verify licensing or for answers to unresolved questions for service work, you can contact the BAR at 800-952-5210 or visit their website at www.dca.ca.gov. On June 6, 2003, we verified that this company's license number AB208712, issued to Allen Automotive, was cancelled. A license is cancelled upon change of ownership and/or out of business.
