Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. As a direct result, some complainants lost their properties when default sales occurred. Other customers complain they paid the initial deposit required, cancelled within three days as allowed by law, but were unable to obtain refunds. In other cases, clients allege no services were performed on their behalf. These clients requested a contract recision and refunds based on breach of agreement. The company responds to complaints by generally denying refund requests, stating that their contract does not guarantee a resolution, and refunds were not in order based on the company's time and efforts working their case. Representatives of foreclosure consultants are required by California Law to have a valid current California Real Estate Sales License and must have a bond by a surety insurer in an amount equal to at least twice the fair market value of the real property that is the subject of the contract. The representative must provide this in writing, under penalty of perjury, that they are a licensed and bonded. Failure to comply with these requirements renders the contract void.

By law, the contract must also provide for a three-day cancellation right and no monies must be paid prior to performing all the services set forth in the contract. Generally, failure to provide the cancellation notice, means that your right to cancel exists until you are notified as required and the cancellation period has expired.
