Our experience with similar offers has been that in some cases, processing fees associated with debt management services are an added expense for the debt-ridden consumer, creditors will not always agree to work with the debt adjustment company, and, in some extreme cases money allocated to pay debts is retained by the debt adjustment company, and not applied to debts as agreed. In these cases, consumers are usually advised that some provision in their written agreement enables the company to retain their payments, or the company soon disappears with their money. Remember, debt management companies are in business to make a profit. If you find your personal debtload unmanageable, and you are no longer able to make payments on all you owe, communicate with your creditors. Ignoring them can and will result in damage to your credit rating. Some companies will offer you an extension of 30 to 60 days if your shortage is temporary. You may be able to rewrite loans at a lower monthly payment amount for a longer re-payment term. Some debts may be covered by credit insurance policies which are sometimes added in on loan contracts or service agreements and forgotten about by the buyer.
