Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. The Federal Trade Commission's Mail Order Rule allows the seller 30 days to ship mail order merchandise unless another time period is specified at the time of the purchase. If they cannot comply, they are required to send written notification to the buyer advising of the delay, and giving the option of having their money returned within 7 days. By law, consumers have 60 days from the billing date to dispute the charge with the credit card company. Visa has a 120 day period. After the 60 day period, a charge cannot be reversed unless the seller consents. If the order is canceled, we suggest the product be returned in sufficient time to permit a credit card dispute to be filed.
