Buyer Beware! Pre-existing Conditions Can be Anything and Everything, and They Will Try to Screw the Pooch

This insurance company will do everything in its power to call something a "pre-existing condition" and there are no consumer protections on pet insurance companies. Did you know that skin tags, which are as common as moles or warts in dogs, are considered pre-cursors for cancer? If your dogs have skin tags and that is recorded in any documentation ever, don't expect treatment later on. Only sign up for this if you have a young dog and have had a very detailed check-up. Everything needs to be noted on paper by your vet, and then you can never let your insurance lapse. If your insurance lapses, even for less than half a year, suddenly any issue they develop since you signed on will be considered a pre-existing condition (like said skin tags). This is coming from a person whose recent claim for diabetes wound up being covered, but only after tons of stress and paperwork. Everyone at their company was misinformed, and I had to jump through 5 hoops and threaten legal action just to get them to take me seriously. Save your money in a bank account, and don't bother with insurance. Once you sign on, if your dog does get any kind of issue, then you can never switch insurance programs. Keep that in mind as well.
