Complainants allege a pattern of complaint allegations concerning inappropriate marketing tactics and Do Not Call violations. Consumers complain the company calls repeatedly calls and hangs up calls at inappropriate times and calls despite being notified that the consumer is registered on the Do Not Call Registry.~~The company responds to all complaints by agreeing to remove the complainant from their call records and apologizing for any inconveniences. The company contends that there are no Do Not Call violations because charity promotors are exempt. Call recipients may request not to be called and the company must honor their request.

This company solicits donations on behalf of various charities by automatic dialers and telemarketing. Charities that are calling on their own behalf to solicit charitable contributions are not covered by the requirements of the Do Not Call national registry. However if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from or on behalf of that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity the telemarketer may be subject to a fine. ~~The Federal Trade Commission reminds consumers that the National Do Not Call Registry has accepted personal cell phone and home phone number registrations since it opened for consumer registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry. To register a telephone number on the National Do Not Call Registry or to file a complaint consumers should visit www.donotcall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236). Consumers registering a phone number online will be asked to provide a valid e-mail address to which a confirmation of the registration will be sent. A registration is not complete until the consumer clicks on the link in this e-mail. Consumers registering by phone must call from the phone number they wish to register.
