Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. Of the complaints we have received against this company in at least some cases the complaint allegations are very serious. Complainants allege misrepresentation of services failure to provide services and failure to issue refunds. Complainants allege they pay the company large advance fees ranging from $1095-1250 for loan modifications and are unable to obtain refunds when services are not performed. In some cases customers were reportedly advised not to pay their mortgage payments causing further delinquency and compounding their financial problems. One complainant alleges the company failed to inform them the mortgage company denied the loan modification and the homeowner faced foreclosure because of their being in default.~~The company responds to complaints in most cases by issuing refunds or partial refunds. In a few cases the company offered explanations for not issuing refunds stating that they had performed services as agreed.

All modification services must be fully completed before any money can be collected. It is also illegal to divide fees or services into components for the purpose of avoiding this law.

HUD approved housing counseling agencies are exempt from this law. For businesses outside of California, please check with the agency that regulates this industry.
