Job seekers often report that companies similar to this one post advertisements on the internet and in newspapers offering high-paying employment, often with little or no experience required. Some advertise for positions available in specific industries in which employment may produce above average benefits or offer some other desirable perks. We consider these types of advertising practices to be deceptive and misleading. These companies are not actually offering employment and therefore cannot guarantee it. Most fail to disclose any fees associated with their services and often misrepresent that their fees are for screening or interviewing costs. Complaints about similar services allege that advertised employment was unavailable or that jobs were non-existent, that listed companies did not exist or did not provide permission for publication, and that the advertising related to earnings potential was misleading. California Law requires that you receive a written contract which includes: basic company information, a fee schedule, a description of services, and an explanation of your three-day cancellation and refund rights. Any fees must be refunded if the company fails to provide at least three employment opportunities within seven business days after signing the contract. If you fail to obtain employment within 90 days, you are entitled to a refund less $25, which must be paid within 10 days or the company must pay twice the amount. The law also requires these companies to have written permission from the listed employer(s) both to advertise the positions, verified within 4 days of printing, and to refer jobseekers that meet specifications. If your written contract does not inform you of your right to a refund or to cancel, you may demand your refund or cancel your contract at any time, without regard to these time limits. For businesses outside of California, please check with the agency that regulates this industry. We urge careful consideration before agreeing to trial offers or giving your credit card number to unfamiliar companies with unfamiliar products. Although this company's trial is advertised as risk free the offer is conditional upon agreeing to a monthly membership fee. Once your credit card number has been provided it will remain on file with the seller for billing purposes. If you forget to cancel or for any reason fail to do so your card number is readily available to bill for your first month of membership. Job seekers should also be aware that although the monthly service fee is advertised at $29.95 per month the company's terms and conditions state that members will be billed monthly an amount that is at the company's 's descretion.~~FTC Guidelines for advertising this type of offer require that all terms and conditions of the offer as well as cancellation instructions be clearly and conspicuously displayed in at least 10 point type before asking for payment or obtaining the customer's consent. Clearly and conspicuously means NOT disclosed in microscopic print accessed by a web link to another site but rather disclosed along with the free trial solicitation. Regardless many consumers overlook the advisory and are unaware of the charge until their next monthly credit card statement. Industry guidelines require marketers to provide a fast easy method of canceling either by mail phone or website Failure to do so may be a violation of consumer protection laws.~~Most credit card issuers will allow the cardholder 60 days to dispute an unauthorized or inaccurate charge. Review your monthly statement carefully. If you discover a charge which is unfamiliar investigate and dispute the amount with your card issuer as soon as possible to protect yourself from making unwanted purchases.
We know of no other matter or practice relating to this company that may assist you in your consideration of this company.
