They were fantastic.

I chose Ketterman to help me navigate through the complex world of paying for my kid's college education. One of the best decisions I have made in a long time. They were fantastic. They got me a lot more financial aid than I would have gotten if I had gone through this process alone, and they saved me an unbelievable amount of time in doing all the applications and forms for me. Beyond their professional expertise, everyone at the organization was incredibly supportive and positive - from the woman who answers the phone, to the team that interviewed me and went over my taxes and income.

I mainly worked with Monica, starting when my daughter was in 11th Grade and all through her Senior year too. Just as an example of how fantastic Monica is, she had to chase after me for months to get her answers. This does not reflect well on me, but it speaks to her attitude, professionalism, and incredible commitment to her clients.

The reason to sign up with Ketterman is for:

1. The weeks, maybe months of time they will save you filling out complicated and repetitive forms if you do this yourself. These forms are unbelievably mind-numbing and time consuming. Ketterman has seen it and done it all…and probably has it computerized. They are fast. More important…

2. The complex issues that they will handle for you, from college financial aid requirements to delicate personal issues within families.

The language on these forms is sometimes confusing. Ketterman speaks their language and will not make the honest mistakes you will. And there are always changes in financial aid year to year…either within a college or even nationally. For example, you must have read that FAFSA was a mess this year. I know it was, but I didn't have to deal with any of that because Ketterman did.

Also, if you are a two household family, ie. divorced, Kettleman handles this delicate situation so responsibly and diplomatically. I didn't think about it when I signed up, but it became necessary since colleges are going to look at the taxes and applications from both households. Kettleman handles both households equally and privately. I actually have no idea how we would have done this without them. Even my ex agrees with me!

But if you are still thinking that you want to save some money and can do this all yourself….

3. The financial aid that they will get you is most likely more than you will get if you did this on your own because they know all the forms, rules and recent changes.

Yes you will be paying an up front fee, but you're going to make it back when you get more aid.

But don't take my word on any of this. You can just sign up for their free seminar. Take it. At the beginning of your child's Junior year.

You have absolutely nothing to lose. I'm in marketing and I am always offended by promises made for free seminars and "no" selling. So I was very reluctant to sign up for this free seminar but my friend pretty much dragged me into it. I was incredibly impressed. It's a very very soft sell at the very end. And you have about an hour of so much free information that it will help you whether or not you sign up for Ketterman.

I guess you might conclude from this review that I had a positive experience with Ketterman and recommend them highly!
