Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. Another complainant requested a refund for services after finding out from her creditors that they do not work with this company's program. Others claim they were unaware that the company was not paying creditors, resulting in further damage to their credit rating.

The company responds to some complaints by denying refunds based on their contention that services were provided, or that the customer was delinquent in making payments. Accounts were cancelled and partial refunds were provided to customers who could not receive services due to state laws.

In May of 2004, our office was informed that American Debt Negotiation Settlement (ADNS) is dissolving their business and National Legal Debt Centers (NLDC) will continue services for ADNS clients. The payments will be taken from the NLDC Trust Account and the service agreement originally signed will remain unchanged.

We advise against participating in debt negotiation or settlement programs like those offered by this company. Our experience with these offers has been that participants are usually far worse off than before they entered the programs. There is no guaranty that while debts are negotiated, creditors will not attempt to collect the debt, report negative information to credit bureaus, or remove negative information once a debt is settled.
