The company responds to complaints by claiming the transactions are authorized and referring to their 30 day return policy. In some cases the company claims to have a recording of the authorization; however, some complainants allege they have not been provided copies of the recordings.

Company calls offering a free trial of product and sends to the place o business without agreement to take. Manipulates the recording to have it be when a question is asked like "is this ABC Business?" and the person responds Yes. It is immediately taken to be an affirmation of receipt of the "free trail product" that needs to be returned within 30 days of the date of phone call not the date of receipt. Then a bill is sent to the company requiring payment with the assumption that many companies will just pay the invoice. If you try to return the product there is no return address, no way of contacting the company and no means of processing the return. The company then sends a bill threatening to send it to collections unless paid. At this point many of the companies will pay to get it off their back. If it continues they will send it to a collections company who has no idea they are/doesn't care that they are representing a company who manipulates a record and has performed this tactic hundreds of times. See BBB complaints and note that they are all identical. The company employs deceptive practices and scare tactics to sell overpriced items, think 300 of normal retail. Resolution Sought Stop employing deceptive practices, provide return address, make a clear path for the "free trial" to be returned. Drop all previous attempts to collect on their bad faith "free trail."

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to delivery a great customer experience and we regret that we haven't met your expectations. We reviewed the audio on record and all the terms and conditions were discussed and agreed upon with the customer. The products were shipped on a 30 day trial and the customer had that many days from the day that they were delivered to use them. All the contact information and the phone number and website are on the packing slip inside the package and outside the package on the shipping label. The customer went past the 30 days and was billed for the merchandise. Please contact our customer service department at 800-661-0622 to help resolve this matter.

I have tried to resolve this matter civilly by contacting the customer service department. This is a practice is in violation of the FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule and the Unordered Merchandise Statute. As such when you send out a "FREE" trial because of said rules, the law states (According to the FTC) that I am not required to return the products and the company is not legally allowed to collect on it. Stop harassing our company.

Thank you for your feedback. The items were sent on a 30 day trial at the end of which you'd be billed for said merchandise and at no time did anyone claim the products to be free. The account has been purchased by a third party collections company but please call our customer service department so we can try and help resolve this matter.

I receive a cold call from American Industrial trying to sell air hoses. I listened for quite some time to the sales rep regarding sending air hoses for us to try for 30 days. I did not accept the offer to send us any air hoses. The next few weeks go by, and we receive a box with air hoses inside with a vague packing slip. I looked over the packing slip for an address or any information about the company or even a price on how to return. None of that information was on the packing slip. I re-seal the box to return the air hoses. I track down a phone number and called that same day about returning the product, but the lady was rude and stated we were passed 30 days and could not return the product, & she needed a credit card to process the payment for the air hoses. I explained to the lady that we did not order the air hoses & wanted to send them back. I advised her that we would NOT be paying for something we did not order or gave authorization to send us. After concluding this call, we begin receiving phone calls every day from a man named ****, the company controller. I explained everything to him assuming he would listen and allow us to return the product. Heck no! This individual was very rude and threatened to send us to collections. **** stated that he has me on a recorded call saying that I approved these hoses therefore I have to pay. Now I know a bit about the law and if someone or a business is recording a call, you must tell the person you are speaking with that it Resolution Sought Return the air hoses and no more contact/communication from American Industrial Source Inc.

Our records indicate that Mary Michaud authorized a 30 day trial offer on the products on 5/27/24. Please contact us to listen to the audio on file. Our staff followed up at the end of the trial and the customer claimed to be satisfied and that payment would be forthcoming. Same was stated on several follow up calls and the account remains open. I would welcome the opportunity to hear this audio file you say you have on file. I never once stated I was satisfied with the product. I also never authorized such an order. I have contacted this company several times for a return label or an address to where I would return the air hoses but was immediately told I was passed the 30 days and could not return the product. I advised the lady I was speaking to that I only received a phone call from one of the employees selling their products or a third-party company making the cold calls. I again stressed that everything was in its original packaging, never used and have no need for them. I was still told that I could not return the air hoses but that if I wanted, I could pick another product from their catalog in exchange. This company is a SCAM and has had numerous negative reviews regarding the same issues I am having. This clearly shows this companies character. This company makes cold calls to prospective companies, tries to sell their products and sends product to the prospective company even though authorization was not given. Very unfortunate that there are very dishonest companies out there preying on others the way they do.
