I purchased a new ac unit two years ago. The warranty is for 10 years parts and 1 year labor. The compressor went out and they charged me 800 dollars labor. How did they come up with the figure ? It is half of what a new compressor costs. No where in the contract did it stipulate that. They said that was company policy. I have yet to read where it states that. They also proceeded to instruct me that if they did not complete the repair with them, that my warranty would be void. That again, is not in the contract. No where does it state labor would amount to 800 dollars for an hours worth repair. The repair guy just went and got a new compressor, took old one out and put new one in. I asked for a price guide of the labor price with ARS and the refused. Fishy to say the least. Living in Houston you try to find a reputable company to do AC work. Bought a new unit with ARS and they price gouge me with "labor" cost of a part under warranty. The repair guy even wrote that on the receipt. I was not expecting an 800 labor tab and yes , his facial expressions when he called supervisor said it all. Resolution Sought Refund 3/4 of "labor " cost. No reason why installing a new compressor from a new unit bought through ARS should cost me 800 dollars!!! Especially for and hours work of installation. 200 dollars is more than fair!

ARS Rescue Rooter newly installed my A/C system on November 21, 2013. The parts are still under the manufacturer's warranty (until November 21, 2023). On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, ARS installed a capacitor (still under warranty), as well as a compressor saver. The replacement of these parts did NOT resolve the issue, as the ARS technician misdiagnosed the issue. ARS charged me $505.00 for replacing both parts (which happen to be $60.00 on Amazon, combined). The ARS technician admitted that installing the two parts did NOT resolve the issue; however, they will only credit the $505.00, if I purchase the entire condensing unit from ARS for $6,178.00. After eight days of a runaround by ARS and suffering without a working A/C in record heat, I have contacted an ARS competitor to replace the entire condensing unit for a total of $2,400.00. I should not have to pay for parts nor service when ARS admittedly misdiagnosed the issue. Resolution Sought Refund $505.00
