They are breaking laws allowing a hygienist to diagnose and prescribe treatment.

I was there for a second opinion about a partial plate. I was lead from room to room and had well over 10 radiographs taken. Then before I had even seen a dentist, a hygienist diagnosed that I had periodontal disease and prescribed treatments including an antibiotic flush. And I needed this done 4 times a year instead of the normal 2 cleanings. All this before I even saw a dentist. Then they told me the treatments would be over one thousand dollars each and of course , we're not covered by my insurance . That's when I informed them of the laws they were breaking allowing a hygienist to diagnose and prescribe treatment , they said it was legal and they do it all the time. I left. Have hygienists do their jobs and have the dentists do their jobs, diagnosing and prescribing treatments and meds. They should see all the negative comments about themselves.
