When making in person, pin based or POS transactions using MasterCard cash/DDA account debit cards, Bernie's Market of Burton, MI is applying fees to customers total without disclosing the fee and without the customers knowledge or consent.
The fee becomes part of the customer total balance, so without pre calculating the total prior to paying, it's impossible to know a fee is being applied to the total transaction amount.
I have visited this store countless times using the same MasterCard cash Debit Card and without my knowledge or consent I have been billed and subsequently paid fees without ever having knowledge or giving consent to pay said fees.
If a receipt is not asked for, the customer has no knowledge to what the total transaction amount is or what was calculated to determine to final sales price amount to be paid by the customer at the point of purchase.
The fee can and had caused DDA account to be overdrawn due to customer believing they are paying a certain amount and a fee being added on top of that - which can cause negative financial consequences for the customer.
