Bait and switch

Chances are if you're reading this, you're seeking a lender. When Darin provides you an unbelievable rate for a loan make sure you get a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) with binding dates that the listed rate is good through. This is the only way you can legitimately compare lenders. Requesting a GFE does not mean you are committing to that particular lender, it's just merely putting in writing what the lender is saying they can provide should you choose them. If they can't guarantee in writing what you are being told over the phone or through email, beware. Any reputable lender or broker will provide a GFE with a valid until date of 30-45 days out typically. For me, emortgagenow failed to deliver.
