Was going to volunteer

My experience 2018? 2019? Visited the place a few years ago with the intention of volunteering after having spoken to a friend who had adopted a cat from this place. Met a nice lady at the rescue,who proceeded to show me around and went over what is expected of volunteers who come to the property to work with the cats. Large place. Many cats. Spent a few hours being introduced to the animals, shown how to clean and feed all of the cats. Some people seem to be living there. I don't know if they own this property and the rescue rents. It was a strange vibe from the people I think live there. I got the feeling they didn't want me there. The lady who was feeding and cleaning for the cats on the other hand seemed to genuinely care for the cats. In the end as much as I wanted to help as I can see the cats needed more attention than this one lady can give I had to tell her that volunteering at this rescue just wasn't the right fit.
