Upon reviewing your claim and the photos, the damage presented on the furniture shows the top colored layer has peeled from the underlining layers. In the terms and conditions of your protection plan, we noted that peeling of leather is explicitly listed as an exclusion. Our terms and conditions serve as the basis for coverage eligibility, and unfortunately, peeling leather falls under the category of non-covered damages. While we are unable to approve this particular claim due to the stated exclusion, please be assured that your feedback is essential to us, and we are continually working to improve our offerings and provide the best possible service.

published review 7/1/22 3 years ago my husband and I bought a sectional couch with a chaise as well as a dining table from Ashley Homestore. We paid a lot of money for the extended warranty through GBS Warranty Services to cover accidents. Recently my toddler got a hold of scissors and ripped up some parts of the cushion covers of the couch and chaise and had, as well, chipped some of the dining table wood. I made claims for the items and GBS denied all the claims saying that since there's regular wear and tear on all these items they won't cover the accidental damage, even though I didn't make the claims about the regular wear and tear only the accidental damage done by my son. It doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't cover these accidents because of regular wear and tear because then items to be covered would always have to be in pristine condition for the 5 years these items are covered, which makes absolutely no sense. They're just trying to make it so they don't have to hold up their end of the bargain which we paid a lot of money to be covered Resolution Sought Replace my chaise and love seat cushions and fix table

We have taken the opportunity to review your claim. In reviewing your claim for the sectional chaise, according to our records, this item was replaced in 2021. Once an item is replaced under the plan terms, the plan does not transfer to the replacement furniture item. Regarding the damages to the armless loveseat, the damages to the seat were deemed non-serviceable for loose threading and no further action will be taken for this damage. For the damaged table, we will be proceeding with a replacement for the table due to repair attempted. The store will contact you to discuss the replacement for the exchange of this item.

When we got a replacement for the chaise we were never told our old replacement plan wouldn’t cover it if there was another damage. That is not information that was ever conveyed to us. Yes there is frayed string on the sofa but I contacted about specific damage my son did that was not the fraying he literally ripped up the individual strings with a pair of scissors. I still want this taken care of

We apologize that the store did not provide you with an option to purchase a new plan. The plan will not transfer to new furniture. Please be advised, abuse of the furniture is not covered under the plan. The damage has been deemed non-warranted and no further action will be taken to repair the remaining areas of the sectional.
