Make sure everyone is treated the same

I believe this was a racial issue. I was going to eat at golden coral when I was behind a family of 5 and it was me my wife and daughter.
The family of 5 was charge 42 dollars and some change in front of me and the guy kept thanking the cashier then I went to pay and was charged 44 dollars and come change so I asked why am I getting charged more then the family of 5 when there's only 3 people in my family, they had 2 adults, we had 2 adults, they had 3 kids under 11, we had 1 kid under 11. When I asked why I was charged more the guy didn't know what to say other than he didn't know.
Could it be because the cashier was the same race and the family of 5 I don't know but it sure seemed like it. There is no was possible 3 people should have been charged more than 5 people. There something shady going on here
