Griffith Ford is horrible dealership
I would not give them any stars if I could do that and still leave a review. I tried to buy a truck from Griffith Ford today. I called to check on a Ford truck I saw on the lot Sunday (with associated VIN) and they wanted to add a $5,000 availability charge, even though the truck was on their lot! The salesman returned my call and said they would not add the charge so I headed to the dealership to purchase the truck. The salesman and I discussed the actual truck, the price, and took it for a drive. When I got into the office we made the deal for the truck. When I received the paperwork to review and sign, I noticed the paperwork had the truck as a 2021 model, when the one I drove was a 2022 model. I questioned the year and Christian, the manager, came back and told me that there was $11, 000 of add-ons to the truck and could not sell it for the priced advertised on the web and agreed on in person. This experience feels a lot like price-gouging, which is against the law.

"bait and switch" games with sales price
TLDR- Very unhappy with Griffith Ford, San Marcos. Salesman and sales manager playing "bait and switch" games with the price to get people into the dealership, then wouldn't budge off the advertised price. — I found a used vehicle advertised on FB marketplace. Messaged the salesperson back and forth over the course of two days. I told him the price I was willing to pay for it. Initially he wouldn't give me a price on it, and kept pressuring me to come in and test drive. I live 1+ hours away and told him I wasn't willing to make the drive without a final "out the door" price. After a few messages back and forth we finally agree. I get the VIN and arrange financing through my credit union. Wife takes off work early, coordinates child care, and we drive to the dealership. We test drive the vehicle and start the paperwork. The price on the paperwork is the advertised price - not what we agreed to on messenger. I say, hey you made a mistake on the price. He says, let me talk to my manager. Sales manager comes out and says they can't do the price we agreed on. Wouldn't negotiate off their advertised price. I guess they figured we'd cave and just pay the difference - not likely. We ended up walking out over $900, completely wasting our time.... and now I'm going to tell everyone who will listen how shady their sales practices are. ***It's exactly BS like this that makes people not trust dealerships and hate the car buying process.***
