My car was towed from Park Ave Apartments in Long Beach CA 3/16/24 I was loading my aunt who'd just been released from the hospital that day (happy to provide proof of this) to her apartment, had just come the grocery store across the street, my receipt says that my transaction was completed at 2:15. (I have the receipt). After 5 minutes of getting her to her door I returned to find my car gone. ( Official time of tow was 2:30pm, minutes after I arrived) no documentation was given or reason, the vehicle was in perfect working order with the hazard lights on, there was no manager present during the time of tow which for a complex this size is mandatory. I had to find out from the leasing office what had happened, I thought it had been stolen. this goes against many statutes listed in the Vehicle Code of CA. which states that a good faith inquiry must be conducted, evidence (a photo) of my infraction provided as well as having the property manager approve the tow (the office said she was not there that day). not only that, but I was given a price of $355 to have my car released but when I arrived I was informed that it would now be $421 because of my "attitude" which equated to me simply trying to argue my rights bout this issue. This towing company has been in trouble before for predatory practices (Press Telegram wrote a story about them) these apartments are predominantly for immigrant students and low income families. there was no legal basis for them to tow it so hastily Resolution Sought refund the $421 impound fee I had to pay
