Awful Credit Union

Despite the 5-Star rating, anyone who is considering opening an account at Priority One should first do their homework. This is a company with horrible member service. When I've called and visited, I was forced to meet with poorly trained staff. They seem more interested in pushing a loan than listening to my concerns. Getting them to resolve problems they cause is taxing.

As important is that they don't protect assets. In 2009, a receptionist at their Los Angeles office made off with more than $60,000 that she took from member accounts including IRA's.

In 2013, an officer made off with more than $1 million in cash which she removed from 2010-2012 from the branch vault. The company is currently involved in several lawsuits including one filed by them, another filed by their former accounting firm and another filed against them by one of their auto brokers.
