Great local spot with a History of giving back and supporting the community. Could use a facelift but a nice chill hangout!

So if you know anything about Salisbury, you will have heard of Chef Santos he is probably one of the best, world renowned chefs and he happens to be here in Salisbury North Carolina. He planted his roots here from Brazil over 30 years ago. He happens to have this bar, Sergeant peppers as well as an Italian grill connected to it and then a nighttime restaurant called Chef Santos Goodfellas. The man has a gift with food and he is 74 years old and still kicking it! Unfortunately with his age and the fact that he's only ever cooked all his life, running a business, restaurant, bar…all of the above requires someone much younger and able and most importantly trustworthy.. Unfortunately people have taken advantage of his kindness and willingness to help others, that has trickle down to the bar and the people that come in and out of it as well as the money that flows through it. I'm writing this review to let you know it would be a great place for you to visit. The business is much appreciated and there are a few people hopefully on board with me that are doing everything they can to help get it back to where it needs to be.! Chef has contributed to so much in this community and deserves to know that his hard work is still loved and very much appreciated. So please come out for yourself and check out Sergeant peppers as well as the Grill and if you haven't been to the nighttime, Chef Santos Goodfellas restaurant, you are definitely missing out! We only live so long and Chef is already 74 come out and enjoy his world, renowned culinary abilities show support and love because that's all he's ever wanted! Just keep in mind it's a work in progress, but what we need more now than ever is support and obviously business. Spread the word, talk about it, show your love and support and have a great time in the process! This is what Salisbury is all about! Thank you for supporting local businesses!

There have been recent covid outbreaks and people coming back after having gotten covid

Its an extremely cramped bar, and aside the food sharing among many and the close contact of people gathering in such a confined space, there have been recent covid outbreaks and people coming back after having gotten covid.. Still not wearing face protection. Its not even required. No one but only a few actually wear it. Even the bartender was out sick recently due to covid. The place is unsanitary and also has roach infestation that has been pointed out many times and has not been taken care of. Its a place where many more could potentially get sick. Not too mention they're letting people with extremely poor hygiene cook the foods there. Its not even a legit restaurant Its a small bar tacked on to the backside of a restaurant when bars are supposed to be closed right now due to covid. Its ridiculous.The amount of people without masks and who they let in there and the roaches its all very unsanitary.
