BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Most complainants allege they respond to an ad for employment, are scheduled for an interview, and are initialy told they are hired on condition they participate in a two day loss prevention course at a cost of $299.00. After completion of the course, complainants are given a photocopied list of businesses to submit resumes to, or apply for work. Complainants report the listed companies, are either not hiring, or claim to have no business affiliation with TSN. Further, some complainants report, companies listed are not hiring for the advertised hourly wage of up to $15.00 per hour. The wage offered was about one half that amount. All complainants request refunds on the basis that TSN acts only as a middle man, and provides no real assistance in their job search. The company responds to the majority of complaints by stating no refunds are due. The company claims the customer received loss prevention training and free job placement assistance according to the contract. The company also points out, their contract does not guarantee employment or promise a job because of enrollment in the training class. The company addressed a few complaints by offering to continue to provide free job placement assistance, or by accusing the customer of being untruthful. Most complainants are not satisfied with the company's responses, and contend they would not have paid TSN if they had known there was no actual job being offered. Several complaints remain unanswered.
